About Me
Bridging Boots-on-the-Ground Operations with Modern Technology
For nearly 25 years, I’ve lived and breathed every corner of the green industry. From pushing mowers and pulling weeds as a kid to overseeing multi-million dollar operations, seven distinct divisions, and executive leadership, I’ve experienced firsthand the challenges landscape contractors face daily.
Today, I help landscape business owners, operations managers, and leadership teams eliminate operational bottlenecks, leverage modern technology, and build predictable, high-margin businesses.
My Journey in the Green Industry
My career began at age 12, working in my father’s residential lawn care business to earn money for Boy Scout summer camp. That early work ethic grew into a lifelong passion. Over two decades, I systematically worked through nearly every role in the business: crew member, designer, estimator, account manager, HR, bookkeeping, director of maintenance, VP of operations, General Manager and others.
Along the way, I continually invested in mastering both the science of horticulture and the business of landscape management:
- Technical Mastery: Earned my Texas Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (#0580445), Licensed Irrigator (LI0022098), Texas Certified Landscape Professional (TCLP #638), Texas Certified Nursery Professional (TCNP #5800), Water Efficient Recognized Green Professional, Texas Certified Water Smart Professional (TCWSP #110) and ASHS Certified Horticulturist (#11088) certifications.
- Business & Strategy: Worked with top industry coaching organizations (like LandOpt) to master advanced financial modeling, strategic planning, and leadership development.
- Industry Leadership: Honored with the TNLA Young Leader Award (2021), I currently serve on the Board of Trustees for the TNLA Foundation and served on the TNLA Certification Committee for nearly a decade (including time as Chairman). Additionally, I’ve served as a judge for the Texas Excellence in Landscaping Awards and presented at the TNLA Expo, regional TNLA events, and several Weathermatic SmartCon conventions.
Why I Started Consulting
The landscape industry is undergoing a massive shift. Software, automation, and data-driven management are no longer optional—they are essential to staying competitive and profitable.
However, implementing software like Aspire or launching specialized service divisions (like Plant Health Care or Water Management) can be daunting without a clear roadmap. Most software implementation fails not because the technology is flawed, but because companies lack the internal SOPs, operational accountability, and workflow design required to support it.
That’s where I step in. I bring a rare combination of deep field knowledge, operational discipline (including framework implementations like 4DX and EOS), and advanced software fluency to turn your tech stack into a profit driver.
How I Can Help Your Business
Whether you are scaling your company, fixing operational gaps, or rolling out new tech, I provide tailored consulting, coaching, and training in:

- Plant Health Care (PHC) Programs: Designing high-margin fertilization, weed control, and pesticide programs from scratch.
- Water Management & Smart Control Rollouts: Building high-margin profit centers focused on irrigation system inspections, audits, and repairs while leveraging Weathermatic SmartLink technology to promote environmental stewardship, lower client water bills, and generate reliable recurring revenue.
- Divisional Operations & SOPs: Setting up, structuring, and operating maintenance, irrigation, and PHC divisions using clear KPIs and accountability systems.
- QuickBooks & QuickBooks Online Setup: Clean financial management tailored to landscape contracting workflows.
- Business Automation & APIs: Connecting your tech stack (Aspire, Microsoft Teams, AI tools, and custom scripts) to eliminate repetitive tasks.
